Essay Contest May 31 Deadline Looms—Winner Meets Jeff Corwin
Students in 7th and 8th grades are being asked to submit an essay about their favorite science teacher, and how this teacher has helped to foster a love for science and learning.
The prize is to spend a day with conservationist and educator Jeff Corwin on the set of Expedition Chesapeake during the 2012-13 school year.
Learn it. Love it. Live it.
That is the motto of the upcoming Expedition Chesapeake. Animal Planet star Jeff Corwin will set out to learn more about the country’s largest estuary, the Chesapeake Bay.
The contest runs through May 31. The winning essay will be selected before June 25. Click here for details on the contest and the rules.
The expedition is funded by the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts. The expedition will wind up as a 42-minute large format film.
The expedition will end up as four related components: the film, a hands-on science exhibit that will travel to science centers, an online learning component and a television documentary.
