Free Books for Children at the Mayo Kiwanis Club Saturday
The Mayo Kiwanis club will be giving out free
books to children, ages 11 and under, on Saturday. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Along with a free book, children will also get a bite to eat: a hot dog, chips and a drink.
There is no cost to attend, and the event is just a way to keep children reading over the summer. The
books have been donated to the Mayo Kiwanis through the BIG books project of the Annapolis-Parole Rotary Club.
The book fair is one of the neighborhood outreach projects of the Commodore Mayo Kiwanis. Their clubhouse at 1133 Carrs Wharf Road in Mayo will be the location of this year’s Book Fair.

The Kiwanis club also sponsors a pancake breakfast on the first Sunday of each month. They set up their clubhouse and serve hot pancakes, bacon or sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee, tea and juice.
