The Davidsonville Athletic Association sent the following message to parents today. This message might be of interest to local families:

DAA Families:

We want to alert you to a situation that occurred near the playground area at Davidsonville Park on Wednesday (May 16) during a boys Pee Wee lacrosse game.

Parents spotted a man in a silver or champagne-colored minivan taking photographs of children playing on the playground equipment.

When the man was approached by concerned parents, he sped out of the parking lot.

The unfortunate reality is that we live in world with undesirables and sometimes they find what they are seeking. In this particular case, no one was hurt and Anne Arundel County Police are gathering as much information as they can regarding who this individual was.

This incident serves as a reminder to us all to look after our children in public settings and realize that the slightest inattentiveness can lead to an opportunity for undesirables to strike.

Please email registrar@daagators.org if you have any information that could aid the authorities or if you were at the Davidsonville Park playground on May 16 between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. when the incident occurred.

If you happened to have been involved in approaching the man in the van or know who was, please reply to the above email address.
