Man Accidentally Shoots Himself With Nail Gun

A construction worker was injured when he accidentally shot himself with a nail gun

A construction worker accidentally shot himself with a nail gun while working on a new home in the Triton Woods neighborhood (off of Shoreham Beach Road). The incident was called in at 11:38 a.m. on Monday. According to a dispatch report, there were multiple wounds, including one to the chest and one to the hand.

Each wound was caused by a pneumatic nail gun using 3″ nails, according to the report. One witness at the scene said the worker may have been falling over with the nail gun in his hand when it went off.

The witness also said that the victim was awake when Anne Arundel County Fire and EMS personnel arrived. The Maryland State Police helicopter landed at Mayo Elementary School in Mayo to take the victim for treatment.

Police remained on the scene investigating.
