HOT SHOTS: DAA Boys Lax Score Berth in Ocean City Championship

Undefeated in divisional play, the Davidsonville Athletic Association (DAA) boys clinic lacrosse team scored a spot in a championship game in the Beach Lax Festival in Ocean City. The boys “clinic” lacrosse players are nine- to seven-years-old.

The boys won their semi-final game against a team from Towson, but fell, 7-2, in the championship final against Lutherville-Timonium.

DAA coach Chris Ross said the boys played extraordinarily well against very challenging and competitive teams.

More of the story after these photos (many thanks to photographers Kelly Hallam and Jennifer Ross):

“We were one of only three teams that went undefeated to win our division,” Coach Ross said. “These boys rose to the occasion and pulled through to win some truly amazing games.”

DAA has participated in the Beach Lax Tournament on and off for years. Four players from each of the DAA clinic lacrosse teams are nominated by their coaches for this select team.

This year’s players included:

  • Nicholas Antonelli
  • Duke Beall
  • Mac Budowski
  • Thomas Burkhardt
  • Fionn Casey
  • Caleb Fyock
  • Ryan Hallam
  • Blake Malamphy
  • Luke Piermarini
  • Alex Ross
  • Luke Sipe
  • Aidan Stephan
  • Zach Taylor
  • Vincent Trujillo
  • Michael Urgo
  • Blake Wanner

“This was an awesome team,” Ross said. “The boys really came together, stuck with the plan and had some tremendous games.”

  1. Congrats to the Gator boys team! So proud to know so many of the boys on this team. They are not only great lax players but great kids all the way around!
