DAA Lacrosse Players in ‘We Believe’ Classic at Spalding High

The Davidsonville Athletic Association (DAA) is participating in the We Believe Lacrosse Classic on Saturday, August 4 from noon to 6 p.m. at Archbishop Spalding High School.”"

The event raises money for the We Believe Foundation which was founded five years ago by DAA Midget assistant coach, Matt Miller and his family.

Matt was diagnosed with testicular cancer in his senior year at DeMatha Catholic High School.  He underwent surgery and several months of chemotherapy—all the while believing that he would conquer cancer and fight his way back on to the lacrosse field. With support from his team mates, coaches and family, Matt lead his 2008 Lacrosse Team to a WBLC Championship.

This year’s lacrosse classic features 50 players from 24 Division One Colleges including University of Maryland, Notre Dame, Villanova, Duke University, University of North Carolina, University of Virginia, Cornell and others.

The day includes a line-up of exciting lacrosse games; the opportunity to meet with local athletes and coaches; and boys and girls (U15) All-Star games with teams comprised of players from local and regional lacrosse programs including DAA players: Kyle Krampf, Kaleb Hayward and Tyler Williams.

In addition, athletes from the DAA Adaptive Lacrosse program will participate in a game.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.webelievelacrosse.com; or at Davidsonville Park on Tuesday, July 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
