LOCAL TALENT: Harwood’s Unofficial ‘Poet Laureate’ Charlotte Smutko
Luscious Dreams:
Fragments of my dreams
float into consciousness
like fleecy clouds —
I smile at the memories
of the best desserts
I’ve ever tasted —
dreams of whipped cream
and rich chocolates —
served with dollops of
ever present
dieter’s guilt.

This is a charming poem….we should see more poetry in print! S.Swaim
We dream of the same exact thing!
Great poem.
I share these luscious dreams! The poet reminds me of how I punctuate my memories of every place I’ve travel to with whatever special meals I had there. Sweet & humorous! I liked this poem!
Charlotte’s poems always use great imagery, so much so that even though it is 8 am, I want dessert.
Thanks Charlotte, now I have to go work it off.
Cheers !
