Suspect in West River Shooting Named, Sought by Police
According to Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy, police were called on Monday evening around
6 p.m. to the 1000 block of Friendship Lane in West River for a shooting. There, police found a 56-year old man who had been shot in the leg. He was lying on the ground in front of a house.
The shooting victim told police that he had been shot after a brief verbal dispute.
Police say that the suspect in the shooting is Danny Gay, Jr.
The victim was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for his injuries, which were non-life threatening.
Police determined that Gay fled in a maroon SUV. The suspect has not been located, and is being actively sought by Anne Arundel County Police. If you have information on the suspect’s whereabouts, please contact Det. Cremen in Southern District, 410-222-1960.
In a followup brief, police say that Gay is 22 years old. He lives at 1543 Lincoln Road, in Shady Side. Gay is described as a black male, approximately 5’10”, 240 pounds.
