Frozen yogurt lovers rejoice. In just a few short days, SweetFrog, a frozen yogurt company based out of Richmond, will open a new store in the South River Crossing shopping center on Rt 2.  The grand opening is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 17.

According to District Manager Robert Gilbert, SweetFrog secured the location about a year ago. Gilbert said the company is looking for part-time employees. Interested candidates should send their resumes  to sweetfrogresume4u@yahoo.com.Sweet Frog Premium Frozen Yogurt

Owner Derek Cha, started the company with his wife Annah Kim in 2009. The company website says that their Christian philosophy is at the heart of operations. In fact, F-R-O-G stands for “Fully Rely On God.”

Gilbert said  there are  about 80 stores throughout the country.  The website lists five currently open in Maryland with another 16 in the pipeline.

SweetFrog offers 50 different varieties of  self-serve yogurt and more than 70 toppings. Most of the yogurts are non-fat. There are typically two flavors of sorbet and sugar-free vanilla yogurt offered daily. Customers create their own combination of  frozen yogurt, then add what they want from the toppings bar. Gilbert said the most popular flavors include cake batter, cookies & cream, cheesecake, vanilla and chocolate.
