Arundel VFD Hosts 5K/10K Fundraiser Saturday in Crofton
Lace up those running shoes, because there will be a nice run and fundraiser on Saturday in Crofton. The Arundel Volunteer Fire Department (AVFD) on Davidsonville Road will host a 5K/10K run on Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the station, which primarily serves the Davidsonville and Crofton/Gambrills communities (but they really go anywhere where help is needed).
The start and finish of the race will be at the Crofton Country Club, 1619 Crofton Parkway. The 10K run gets underway at 8 a.m., but for those who are there at 7:30 a.m., there will be a professional trainer to help warm everyone up. The 5K starts at 8:30 a.m.
Runner’s get: T-shirt (only guaranteed to early registrants), refreshments and awards, water stops on course and at start/finish, course monitors, ample parking, and results distributed shortly after the race.
Entry is $35 at the event. Active registrations are closed.
Pre-register or pick up your packet (if you registered online) on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the fire station (2380 Davidsonville Road) or starting at 6:30 a.m. on the day of the race at the Crofton Country Club. Participants must show their driver’s license or other identification to pick up race packet.
Race organizers ask participants to park in the lot between the Crofton Country Club and the Prince of Peace Church. Please don’t interfere with golfers; the Crofton clubhouse and Pro Shop are off limits too. Please warm up on roads/sidewalks and park only in designated areas. Pets are not permitted on the race course.
