Hit the Links for Charity this Month

Golfers grab your clubs and join in one of several charity golf tournaments being held this month for local schools, sports and children’s organizations.

The outings begin with  South River Youth Athletics (SRYA) third annual golf tournament on Thursday, Oct 4 at  The Golf Club at South River.

Registration and breakfast is at 9 a.m. with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $125 per golfer which includes lunch, dinner provided by Adam’s Ribs, and unlimited beverages. Space is limited to the first 144 golfers. To register visit www.srya.org.

Proceeds benefit SRYA, which is a non-profit sports organization that offers athletic programs for the youth in and around the South River area.

The Summit School is hosting its 8th annual golf tournament on Monday, Oct. 15 at The Golf Club at South River. Registration and breakfast is at 8 a.m. with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. Cost is $640 for a foursome or $160 for individual players. The fee includes golf, a light breakfast, beverages and lunch donated by The Steakhouse. Lunch and an awards ceremony will be held at 3 p.m.   Entries must be received by Oct. 10. Register online at www.thesummitschool.org.

The money raised benefits the students and faculty of  The Summit School, a private, not-for-profit co-educational school for students grades 1st through 8th with dyslexia and other learning differences.

Riva-based Check-6 Foundation is holding its Golf Classic Fundraiser on Monday, Oct 22 at Bay Hills Golf Club at 545 Bay Hills Drive in Arnold. Registration and a continental breakfast is at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Cost is $80 per person which includes greens fee and golf cart, breakfast, two drink tickets, buffet lunch, free additional round of golf, $5 pro shop merchandise and a golfer goodie bag. Cost increases to $90 after Oct. 12 so register soon at golf.check6.org.
