D’Ville Elementary Hosts Relay for Life Fundraiser at Killarney Oct.10

Davidsonville Elementary’s Gators for Life team is made up of teachers, staff, parents and students.
On Wednesday, Oct. 10, Davidsonville Elementary’s Relay for Life team will kick-off its fundraising efforts with a “Gators for Life” Dinner and Auction at the Killarney House.
A night of fun is in the works as the Davidsonville community rallies together to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The evening includes a delicious, prix fixe menu for $25 of which $10 will be donated to Davidsonville’s Gators for Life team.
In addition, you can bid on a variety of auction items graciously donated by more than 15 local businesses including Adam’s Ribs, Stan & Joes, Edgewater Acupuncture, Sweet Frog, Body Wellness and many more.
Davidsonville teachers and staff have gotten into the fundraising spirit as well, offering special lunches and “teacher of the day” donation packages. It’s even rumored that a coveted lunch with Davidsonville’s Principal Hofstetter is being raffled off.
The Gators for Life team is made up of 30 staff and their family members along with students and parents. The team recently participated in the Relay for Life event held at South River High School where they collectively raised nearly $6,000 for the South Anne Arundel County Chapter.
Tonight’s dinner and auction is just one of many fundraising efforts organized by the DES Gators for Life team. Students have been encouraged to fill breast cancer awareness water bottles with loose change and return them to school. So far, the school has collected 52 water bottles containing approximately $1,300.
Further, DES student Katie Campo makes and sells a line of bracelets on her website katiesrainbowstrings.com.
