HOT SHOT: DAA Boys Soccer Teams Take the Field at Navy Stadium

On Tuesday, under the bright lights at the Naval Academy’s  Glenn Warner Soccer Facility, two Davidsonville Athletic Association (DAA) soccer teams took to the field at halftime during the Navy versus UMBC men’s soccer game  to play a 15-minute  exhibition game.

The DAA Gators U9 travel soccer team scrimmaged against the DAA U9 county team. It was a fast-paced, exciting game for the boys who were  thrilled to take play under the bright lights and Navy fans.

The DAA U9 Travel team and DAA U9 County team played at the Navy versus UMBC men’s soccer game.

“This was a big deal for the kids,” coach John Keith said. “Here we are on the banks of the Severn River on a college field under lights. It’s an amazing experience—one these kids will not soon forget.”

The travel team is coached by John Keith and Eddie Trujillo. The team plays in the Baltimore Beltway Soccer League (BBSL). Members include:

The county team is coached by Mitch Davis. These boys compete against other teams in Anne Arundel County.  Team members include:

• Cole Turner

“It was truly an honor for these kids ,” said Trujillo. “Anytime you are invited to play at the Naval Academy, it’s something special.”
