Shady Side Turkey Shoots Run Sundays Nov. 4-18

The Shady Side Community Center will host Sunday Turkey Shoots starting Nov. 4 at noon. The shoots will run each Sunday, Nov. 11 and 18. They will take place in the field behind the community center where targets are set up.

To participate in the turkey shoot, bring a 12-gauge shoulder held shotgun with a maximum 30-inch barrel length. Turkey chokes are prohibited.

When you arrive, you pay for a ticket, 20 targets per shoot. After paying, you line up to shoot for the winning prize for that round. Prizes include turkeys, ham, bacon or shrimp.

So then you line up and shoot for a paper target. The judges determine which shooter got the closest to the center of the target.

It is an event for novices or old hats. Young and old can practice target-shooting skills.

Refreshments will be for sale.

There are no advance sales of tickets. First come, first served. Proceeds help support the club’s community events, building fund and local charitable donations.  For more information, call  410-507-5295.
