Schools Need a South River Rep for Citizen Advisory Board

Want to get involved in a way that is meaningful?

Why not sign up to be the South River High School/Central Middle School representative to the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC). You will go to meetings once a month where you will meet with other representatives from across the county. You will take information back to your home school.

At the meetings (held at the Board of Education meeting room on Riva Road), you’ll discuss educational policy, activities and programs. You may choose to study and report on specific educational issues of countywide concern. You might get a request from the Board of Education to provide input on specific issues.

From there, a CAC representative will report on your work to the Board of Education.

Sounds fun, doesn’t it?

The deadline to apply is Nov. 5.

If you are interested, complete the application (found on the CAC page of the AACPS website) and email it to Teresa Tudor, Senior Manager for School & Family Partnerships. It really isn’t an application as much as it is informational about how they can contact you and what your name and email address is.

More information about the CAC and its meeting schedule can also be found on the website, or call Tudor at 410-222-5414.

The CAC is appointed by the Board of Education. The current opening is for an Executive Board member to represent secondary schools in the South River cluster.
