Schools to Open Two Hours Late, 5 in South County Remain Closed
Anne Arundel County School spokesman Bob Mosier announced that county schools will open two-hours late tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 31. Schools without power will be closed on Wednesday and will remain so even if power is restored overnight.

Deale Elementary is one of five schools in South County that will be closed on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
At this time those in South County without power include Deale Elementary, Edgewater Elementary, Lothian Elementary, Southern Middle and Tracey’s Elementary.
There will be no morning half-day pre-kindergarten or ECI classes. Students in full-day pre-kindergarten classes will have class, and should report two hours later than normal.
Benchmark and other assessments scheduled for tomorrow will not be given. Decisions on those schedules and any adjustment of the first marking period will be conveyed to parents in a letter to go home with students tomorrow.
Mosier said that parents of students in communities still impacted by downed trees or high water should exercise caution, good judgment, and patience in getting their children to bus stops or school tomorrow.
