Four Davidsonville Parishes to Gather Under One Roof Thanksgiving Eve
The night before Thanksgiving, four Davidsonville parishes—Union Memorial Methodist Church, Davidsonville United Methodist Church, Holy Family Catholic Church and All Hallows Episcopal Church—will gather for a shared “Community Thanksgiving.” The event will be hosted by Union Memorial Methodist Church, 3328 Davidsonville Road in Davidsonville.
This event has been going on for 25 to 30 years, with each church taking a turn hosting the event. This is not just for members of the churches. This event is for everyone in the community.
And what better time? Thanksgiving is a time for sharing. And although Thanksgiving is not a Holy Day, many churches celebrate not just the material blessings of Thanksgiving, but also the blessings of family, friends, neighbors and all of the “friends we have not yet met” in the wider community.
Thanksgiving is also a great time for recognizing and carrying on old traditions. This is a great tradition for the Davidsonville community to continue. Meet with the wider community on Wednesday night and then head home for parades, turkey and football on Thursday.
At the service, Pastor Paulette Jones (Union), Father Andy Aaron (Holy Family), Rev. Dr. Lisa Bandel (Davidsonville UMC) and Rev. Alistair So (All Hallows) will share the service with traditional hymns of thanks.

On Thursday, Holy Family will have a Thanksgiving Service at 10 a.m. Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Our Lady of Perpetual Help food bank to this Mass. The parish will also bless and give out loaves of bread to take home for the Thanksgiving Supper table.
