More Than a Kind Gesture—Dogs Reunited with Owner in Davidsonville
This very nice email publicly thanking Dogwood Acres came in from Davidsonville resident Nora Terres who lives in Hardesty Estates:
I’d like to thank Dogwood Acres for a recent act of kindness by getting the word out and giving them some positive PR. I’d appreciate your advice about the best way to do that.
Last week, I didn’t realize that my husband had left our gate open. I let the dogs out. It was a nice day, and an hour went by before I realized they hadn’t barked to get back in, and checked on them. I drove around the neighborhood looking for them. A few other times when they got away, I’d found them pretty quickly that way, but they hadn’t been out for so long those times.
Then I got a call from Dogwood Acres. They had run out of our neighborhood all the way to the BP station on Central Avenue. A kind woman called them, and they jumped right in her car. The tag from the local vet, for their rabies vaccination was on, but at some point the tag with our phone # had been removed. The good Samaritan took them to Dogwood Acres. They scanned Chloe’s internal ID chip, got our number, and called us.
They said the dogs were pretty dirty and asked if it was OK to give them a bath.
I said fine.
I went to pick them up and said I wanted to pay them something. They refused to take any money.
