HOT SHOTS: Fry Fest Chefs Cook a Goose—and a Bunch of Turkeys
We checked out the Fry Fest in Harwood on Thanksgiving morning. The neighborhood chefs had three fryers and a smoker going all the time. Neighbors and friends brought turkeys for frying—which takes just 45 minutes. A few of the items that were cooked included: turkeys (of course), donuts, french fries, sweet potato fries and chips, potato chips, fried oysters, fried fish, fried mac-n-cheese balls, fried stuffing, smoked goose and more.
And really, when you are paying $50 for five gallons of oil, you might as well fry the turkey and a few other things as well.
Here are some photos from the morning. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
