‘Secret Angel’ Author Coming to Homestead Gardens Sunday
Homestead Gardens will host Rachel Hernandez, the author of “My Secret Angel and Me,” a Christmas Book and Doll Set. She’ll be at the Davidsonville store on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. Santa will also be visiting. He arrives at 10 a.m. and stays until 4 p.m.
The book and doll set will be a great new tradition for your family. The story begins with an angel that is sent on a mission to teach children the real meaning of Christmas. Join Jesus, Mary, Joseph and even Santa on a journey back in time to search for the first Christmas gift. The book was illustrated by Ashley Adorno.
My Secret Angel and Me was created to teach children the true meaning of Christmas. Through imagery and rhymes, the story of the Nativity unfolds in a way children can understand.
Hernandez is a former television reporter turned stay-at-home mom. She lives in Edgewater with her husband Pete and daughter Bella.
Adorno is a former teacher and lives in Charleston, South Carolina with her husband Sean and their three children: Tyler, Ayla and Cecelia.
The book puts Jesus at the center of the Christmas story, while still including a role for Santa. You see, God tells Santa what he needs to do. Ultimately, his plan for all of us—even Santa—is to know that the birth of Jesus is the real gift of Christmas Day.
In the story, the angel reports to heaven each night, singing children’s praises. The angel tells children that God loves them always—whether they are naughty or nice.
“We try to meet kids where they are with the hope that the focus will be shifted from Santa and onto to God, since God is the boss of all things,” Hernandez said in a media release. “Our angel teaches that God is bigger than Santa, and God’s gifts are everlasting.”
“My Secret Angel and Me” was created by the two authors, both stay-at-home moms on a mission to teach children the true meaning of Christmas.
Beautifully packaged, the book set is available online and in over 150 stores nationwide, including select Barnes and Noble Bookstores in the Southeast for $29.95.
