South River High School’s girl’s varsity basketball team won 67 to 58 at home on Thursday against Old Mill High School, bringing their season record to 4 wins and 1 loss.
The South River girls scored first and dominated throughout the game, although Old Mill pulled ahead in scoring twice.
Coming into Thursday night’s game, Old Mill was 3 and 0. South River delivered the Patriots their first loss of the season.
Over the winter break, the Lady Seahawks will play a tournament on Dec. 26-67. After the new year, they’ll play Broadneck (away) on Jan. 4 and Annapolis at home on Jan. 7.
Earlier in the night, Old Mill overpowered the boy’s team at South River with a final score of 60 to 81. The loss brings the boys to 1 and 4 for the season. However, with 17 more games to play, they have plenty of time to turn things around.
At Southern, the Lady Bulldogs have an almost even record of 2 and 3, while the boys are doing well, winning three out of their four games so far. On Jan. 4, the ‘Dawgs will play Annapolis (away) and on Jan. 7, they’ll meet Broadneck at home.
