On Sunday, Feb. 10, the Davidsonville Athletic Association (DAA) in partnership with the Maryland United Lacrosse Club and Indian Creek Middle School will host an evening with Joe Ehrmann. Ehrmann is a former Baltimore Colt, author of InSideOut Coaching: How Sports Can Transform Lives and the of subject of the best selling book, Season of Life.
The event will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Indian Creek Upper School and is open to parents, coaches and athletes of all levels from Little League to High School to College.
This event is expected to sell out. To ensure a seat, purchase your tickets now.
Individuals will have the opportunity to hear Ehrmann’s inspirational message about how to turn coaching or playing styles “inside-out” and how sports can forever transform lives.
Admission is $25 per person. All proceeds from the event will benefit the three children of a former Davidsonville Gator, Kellie Thompson Shiley, who died from complications following the delivery of her twin girls last summer.
Ehrmann was named “The Most Important Coach in America” by Parade Magazine in 2004 because of his work to transform the culture of sports.
Parade Magazine article highlighted Ehrmann’s coaching philosophy:
“Football is all about living in a community. It is about fostering relationships. It is about the importance of serving others. While coaches elsewhere scream endlessly about being tough, Ehrmann teaches concepts such as empathy, inclusion and integrity.”
