Police Check out Attempted Burglary in Beverly Beach

Neighbors in Beverly Beach were surprised on Monday to see the Anne Arundel County Police mobile crime unit out in front of a home in the 300 block of Elm Street. Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said they were there to take evidence in a follow up to an attempted burglary that took place on Sunday at 12: 30 p.m.

Mulcahy said that a neighbor yelled at a male attempting to make a forced entry into the home. After the neighbor called out, the suspect fled the area on a bicycle.

Although there had been rumors of shots fired in the Beverly Beach neighborhood, police and fire could not find record of any over the long weekend.

Also from Fire, on Monday afternoon in the 5900 block of Deale Churchton Road, the Anne Arundel County Fire Department responded to a single vehicle accident with a car that ran into a ditch. One victim was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
