HOT SHOTS: Central Elementary’s ‘Winter Wonderland’ Brings Out the Fun
Central Elementary School‘s Winter Wonderland night on Tuesday at the school in Edgewater was a big success. The event was put on by the Central Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and there was no entry fee for students or family members. At the site, there were a variety of activities, cookie decorating, face painting, Nerf tennis and more. Students had an opportunity to preview the Lego FIRST Robotics engineering club that will start later in spring.
Also on site, South River Martial Arts instructors gave the children the opportunity to kick and punch with sparring gloves and pads. Kona Ice was on site with owner (and Central dad) Chris O’Keiffe scooping shaved ice. With the Kona truck (and the mini-Kona he had on site) children get to select and add their own flavorings.
These fun activities are great for bringing parents and siblings into the school and making the school building itself a hub of the community. The families in attendance enjoyed the evening. Hope you enjoy these photos!
