Hot Shots: Edgewater Residents Spruce up Local Post Office

Last Saturday, dozens of Edgewater residents gathered at the Edgewater Post Office off Stepney’s Lane  to give the outside of the building a much needed make over.

The clean up was organized by South River Colony Conservancy, the management company for South River Colony. The group decided to spruce up the Edgewater post office after noticing the grounds were in need of attention.

The volunteers worked hard, putting down 500 feet of sod and 50 bags of mulch. They planted six cherry trees near the entrance along with 50 tubs of perennials. In addition, stepping stones and decorative flagstone were placed in the front of the post office.

The volunteers did not stop there. The men, women and children mowed the grass, weeded, pulled out dead azalea bushes and picked up trash.

Local contractors donated their time to apply new parking lot striping and area businesses provided the trees, plants and mulch for the project.
