Car Wash and Barbecue Sale This Saturday in Davidsonville

The Davidsonville United Methodist Church’s Youth Group is holding a car wash this Saturday, June 22 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to help raise money for their mission trip to North Carolina.  A team of 30 youth and nine adults will leave for the week-long trip on Sunday, June 23. While there, they will help repair homes damaged by Hurricane Irene. Projects include plumbing, flooring, painting and roof repairs.DUMC

The car wash will be held in the church parking lot. Volunteers will be stationed at the front entrance to direct individuals as they enter. There is no set price. Donations are greatly appreciated.

Church member Rhonda Otis and her husband are accompanying the group to North Carolina. Rhonda said the cost to transport and feed the individuals for the week is several thousand dollars.

In addition to the car wash, the Tongues of Fire Barbecue team will serve their delicious pork, beef and chicken sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until the food is sold out. Proceeds from the barbecue sales will benefit the church’s Mission Ministry Team.
