Register Today for Captain Avery Museum’s National Cathedral Excursion

The Captain Avery Museum will host its second annual trip to the National Cathedral on Tuesday, September 17.  Tickets are going fast, so reserve a spot today. Due to Cathedral requirements only 43 participants will be allowed on the tour.

The reservation deadline is August 9.

Individuals will enjoy a docent lead tour of the National Cathedral followed by high tea served in the Pilgrim Observation Tower.

Magical Lighting-Washington National Cathedral...

Highlights of the tour include:

  • Learning about the magnificent stained glass throughout the cathedral;
  • Viewing the restoration underway resulting from the 2011 earthquake;
  • Learning the history behind the many scary and humorous gargoyles; and
  • Exploring the stained glass, needlepoint, woodcarving, and stone carving and learning how they fit into the history and architecture of the Cathedral.

The motor coaches will depart from the Kmart Parking Lot in Edgewater at 11 a.m. and will return at 5 p.m. The price is $80 for members and $90 for non-members. The fee includes the cost for the tea, tour of the Cathedral, transportation and gratuities.
