Funeral For Edgewater Woman Who Drowned July 4 Set for Friday
Kalas Funeral Home in Edgewater has set the schedule for the visitation and funeral services for Eladie “Ellie” Parrilla, 39, of Edgewater. Parilla died on July 4. She drowned in the family swimming pool at the home. Police indicated in media reports that there is no evidence of foul play.

Parilla was an employee of Anne Arundel County Public Schools as a special education teacher at Bates Middle School in Annapolis. She was beloved by her students and colleagues alike.
Parilla earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland and her Masters in Special Education from University of the District of Columbia. She was a 13-year resident of Edgewater. Before that she lived in Bowie.
According to her online obituary at Kalas, Ellie is survived by her two sisters, Taren K. Parrilla of Edgewater and Jelene (Edwin) Jorge of Bamberg, Germany; a brother, Milton Gouch, III of Largo; and her longtime companion Scott Cutlip. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews; Krystal, Lucas, Elijah, Edwin, Jr., Tatiana, Jazmine, Justin, Sarah, Nyla, Claire, Callie and Shyann.
