Stormwater Showcase at London Town Gardens July 24 With Green Drinks Annapolis
From Annapolis Green:
Annapolis Green will present a stormwater showcase at its Green Drinks event at Historic London Town and Gardens (839 Londontown Road in Edgewater), on the shores of the South River in Edgewater from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (July 24).
The public is invited to see how historic preservation and reverence for the area’s colonial heritage coexist beautifully with state-of-the art environmental practices, such as London Town’s new Green Roof over the Visitors’ Center. London Town is working to become a model of environmentalism in Anne Arundel County and a showcase for stormwater management.
Stormwater management experts have been invited to exhibit and share information about best practices during the Green Drinks event.
In addition, the Leadership Anne Arundel 2013 Flagship Class will present its inaugural R3 (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) Commercial Recycling Awards to Veteran Compost and the Irish Restaurant Company.
Guided tours of the gardens and the Green Roof will be offered and live music will be provided by the Matt Wigler Trio.
Green Drinks is Annapolis Green’s popular networking happy hour for the environmentally minded — “the fun side of eco-awareness…making serious connections,” — a monthly networking event that rotates its meeting location to feature local businesses and organizations that are on a sustainable path.
Admission is free with a cash bar. Catering by Seasons, a recent recipient of the 2013 Maryland Green Leadership Award, will present unique complimentary farm-to-table hors d’oeuvres.
