Stabbing at Fuji Steakhouse at Waugh Chapel Sends One to Hospital
Two employees at Fuji Steakhouse in Waugh Chapel Shopping Center in Gambrills got into a fight that turned bloody on Wednesday. According to Anne Arundel County Police spokesman Justin Mulcahy, police were called to the restaurant around 3:40 p.m. for a report of an injured person.
When they arrived, they found one man with lacerations to the head, legs and arm. The victim, 30, was transported to Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Police learned that the suspect, Li Chen, 26, of Washington, DC, and the victim, both employees at the restaurant, got into a dispute over food. The victim hit the suspect with a frying pan, then the suspect swung a cooking knife, cutting the victim in the head. The victim was also cut on his leg and arm.
Mulcahy said that Chen was arrested and charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. The investigation is ongoing with potential charges pending against the victim as well, police said.
