Community Foundation Seeks Nonprofits Who Need Money

The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County has announced its dates for the 2014 Great Give and is looking for non-profits to sign on.  Here is a press release from the organization with additional information.

In May of 2013, Anne Arundel County did something unprecedented. Residents, employees, and businesses came together online and raised $606,784 in 24 hours for 118 local nonprofits through the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County’s (CFAAC) inaugural Great Give event.

With the success of the Great Give 2013 and a desire to inspire greater philanthropy in the Anne Arundel County community, the CFAAC Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that it will host the Great Give again in 2014 from 6 PM on May 6 to 6 PM on May 7 with a goal of raising $1,000,000 from 5,000 donors. Maryland Live! Casino has signed on as the Presenting Sponsor for the Great Give 2014.2014GreatGive_Sept12AnnouncementEmail

“We are excited to host this unique community-wide event again in 2014 and to have the continued partnership with Maryland Live! Casino as our Presenting Sponsor. Thanks to our committed and hard-working community volunteers and staff, the planning process is in full swing,” states CFAAC Executive Director Bess Langbein.

“We are thrilled that Bob Neall, former Anne Arundel County Executive and President of Priority Partners, and Kathy Brooks, Branch Manager of Coldwell Banker in Severna Park, are once again leading this effort as Great Give Co-Chairs. Together, we are focusing our efforts on growing philanthropy by getting twice as many individuals to donate online in 2014 and more Anne Arundel County businesses involved. With the high level of interest already being expressed by our local nonprofits, we’re expecting more than 150 to participate in next year’s Great Give.”

Results from the Great Give 2013 are showcased in this video created by CFAAC and Great Give volunteer Josh Davidsburg of ICandy Productions:  Other details from the 2013 Great Give can be found at
