Free Plants for First in the Door at Homestead Gardens

It’s National Indoor Plant Week, and to celebrate Homestead Gardens is giving away a 3- inch assorted foliage plant Monday through Friday (September 16-20) to the first 20 customers. In addition, they have a line-up of educational workshops and seminars planned to help individuals learn more about the benefits of adding house plants to your living space.

Here’s a summary of the week’s events from Homestead Gardens. Happy indoor gardening.

Plants are a vital part of our existence whether we realize it or not, and we want to encourage you to explore the benefits of adding houseplants to your indoor home and work spaces. NASA studies have shown that many of our easiest indoor plants are also amazing air purifiers, as they oxygenate our air and remove toxic chemicals such as carbon dioxide, formaldehyde, ammonia, and benzene, which are released from furnishings, carpeting, paints, and cleaning products. One of the best ways to reduce sick-building syndrome is to add plants to an interior space.

Jelly Bean Plant (Sedum rubrotinctum)

Other studies have shown that those that live ad/or work in homes or offices with plants tend to be less stressed, and healthier in general. What’s not to love?  So, we want you to love houseplants as much as we do, for your own good—and Homestead Gardens is here to help you do it.

Check out the events and promotions for this exciting week dedicated to the special symbiotic relationship between human and houseplant, and bring home a healthier lifestyle for you and your family.
