Jack Creek Park in Shady Side Ribbon Cutting Set for Thursday Morning

Anne Arundel County Executive Laura Neuman will be coming to South County again on Thursday morning to cut the ribbon and dedicate the county’s newest recreation area: Jack Creek Park in Shady Side. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 19.

Jack Creek Park is open to the public between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Citizens can enter with a code to the combination lock on the gate. To get the code, call 410-222-7317. The park is administered by the Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks.

The park is a 60-acre parcel located off Snug Harbor Road in Shady Side. It fronts the Chesapeake Bay. According to a blog post on the West/Rhode Riverkeeper’s website, 14 parking spaces are now available. The park also includes a series of trails that wrap around the inland portions of the park and extend to the water.

It’ll be a great spot for launching a boat, hiking the trails or watching nature.
