The 12th annual Michael D. Schrodel Golf Classic will be held at the Twin Shields Golf Course in Dunkirk on Oct. 4 to benefit Calvert Hospice, The Michael D. Schrodel Endowed Scholarship Fund at Frostburg State University and a College Savings Plan established for Schrodel’s child, Carmen.
Carmen said it will be a fun-filled day of golf.
“I am honored to be leading the golf classic once again, along with my mother Teresa Schrodel and my father’s fraternity brother Eric Dorman,” Carmen said.
The tournament is being held in honor of Carmen’s father, Michael D. Schrodel who died at the young age of 31.
“He lives on in our thoughts and through this tournament. My dad was a genuine, caring and loving person. His positive nature and vibrant soul touched many people. During his 18-month struggle with cancer, he managed to greet every day with exuberance, strength and courage, and for these qualities, our memories of him will last forever,” she said.
The public is welcome to participate in this yearly event that combines fun, family, friendship, and spirited competition. Bring your clubs and participate as a player or get involved in a number of other ways. You can sponsor a hole, contribute to the goodie bags, donate a silent auction item, or simply be a volunteer!
