BIZ NOTES: Ron Bortnick Ford, Y-Worry Farm and Business After Hours Mixer
Y Worry Farm in Davidsonville will again host the 7th Annual Agriculture Education Day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 13. There will be live music, featuring The Big Money Band, food, games, and educational agriculture exhibits.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation. At the event, the MD Agriculture Showcase will to offer an interactive agricultural educational experience and a craft for your children. Activities include: scarecrow station (bring childrens clothes if you have them); pony rides, corn maze, facepainting, balloons, farm animals and a pick your own pumpkin patch.
Y Worry Farm is located at 1501 Rossback Road in Davidsonville.
Ron Bortnick Ford in Upper Marlboro has been sold, but general manager Marc Bortnick, Ron’s son, said that the company will continue to provide a car to the Southern High School prom, as it has done every year for the past 19 years.
The new dealership, Upper Marlboro Ford is now owned by Kody Holdings out of Waldorf. Kody owns a group of eight Ford, Lincoln, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and used-car dealerships. They have been a Ford dealer for nearly three decades.
Kody Holdings is a member of the Fortune 500 and has approximately 460 employees.
The dealership is at the same location, 5700 Crain Highway, Upper Marlboro, just on the other side of the Patuxent River off Route 4.
The South County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their October Business After Hours Mixer- Tues. Oct. 15, 6-7:30 PM at Dick and Jane’s Farm, Harwood, featuring hay rides, campfire, cookout, and S’More’s! Register now.
