The 10K race starts on the Camp Letts driveway and then veers off through a trail onto the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center property. After running a brief patch around a field and a short stint on Muddy Creek Road, runners head back to Camp Letts.

The 5K fun run/walk is the length of the Camp Letts driveway and back. The road is fairly flat, making it easy to run or walk with the kids.

Strollers are welcome.  There may be ruts in the road, so strollers with larger wheels are preferable. Headsets and in-line skates are not allowed on the course for safety reasons and pets are not permitted on the property.

The cost is $25 for the 5K and $30 for the 10K if you register by Friday, November 8. Thereafter it’s $35 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K.

Camp Letts recommends registering in advance so that day-of race packet-pick up runs smoothly.  There are several ways to sign up:

On-line: at www.campletts.org. Follow to the link for active.com.  Online registration closes November 27 at 8 a.m.

By mail: entry forms must be completed, signed, and mailed, along with payment, to the address on the entry form. Mail in entries must be postmarked by Friday, November 8

Race Day Registration: will begin at 7:30 a.m. on race day and end promptly at 8:30 am.

Proceeds from the Turkey Chase help send deserving kids to Camp. YMCA Camp Letts was founded in 1906 and is one of the oldest operating Resident Camps in the nation. They serve over 2,000 children each summer in Traditional Day Camps, Equestrian Day Camps, Specialty Day Camps, One and Two-Week Overnight (Residential) Camps, Leaders in Training and Counselor in Training programs.

Camp Letts is located at 4003 Camp Letts Road in Edgewater. The race will be held rain or shine.
