Thanksgiving Day Roundup: A List of What’s Open and Where to Eat on Turkey Day

Thanksgiving is just two weeks away, and if you plan on dining out this year now is the time to make a reservation. Several restaurants in South County are serving Thanksgiving Day buffets  including the Killarney House, Yellowfin and Pirates Cove. The Killarney House and Pirates Cove require reservations and are booking up quickly, so don’t wait too long to reserve a table.

Select supermarkets, convenience stores, coffee shops and pubs will also be open for those who need to pick up last minute items or are looking for a quiet place to enjoy a cup of coffee or spirit.

Thanksgiving Day Buffets

Killarney House in Davidsonville is offering a Thanksgiving buffet from 12 to 5 p.m. Reservations are recommended for the main dining room and the outdoor heated patio.  The menu includes Carved Roast Turkey served with Gravy and Cranberry, Baked Ham and Stuffing, Carved Roast Beef, Tilapia in a Citrus Creme Sauce, Champ Potatoes, Carrots and Parsnips, Fresh Mixed Vegetables, Garden Rice, Mashed Butternut Squash, salads and desserts. Adults are $21.99 and children under 10 eat for half price. Call: 410-798-8700.

Pirates Cove in Galesville is offering a traditional Thanksgiving buffet from 12 to 7 p.m. The menu includes Roasted Turkey, Southern Maryland Ham, Oyster Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Corn Pudding, Desserts and more. Reservations are required. Adults are $27; children 5-12 years old $13; and 4 years and under eat for free. Call: 410-867-2300.

Yellowfin in Edgewater is open from 12 to 6 p.m. Carved Roasted Turkey, Ham and Tenderloin of Beef. Crab Stuffed Grouper and Herb Crusted Norwegian Salmon. Sage Infused Cornbread Stuffing and Garlic Mashed PotatoesMaple Glazed Sweet Potatoes and Green Bean Casserole. Maryland Cream of Crab and Maryland Vegetable Crab Soup. Smoked Salmon and Assorted Smoked Seafood Display. Maryland Crab Dip and Assorted Seafood Risotto. Mixed Field Greens with Assorted dressings & Condiments. Fresh Baked Bread and Cranberry Relish, Macaroni and Cheese, Chicken Fingers and Fries for the Kids. Sweat PotatoPie and Assorted Gourmet Desserts. Coffee, Specialty Teas and Soft Drinks Included. Entire bottled wine selection will be available at half price. Supermarkets, Convenience Stores, Coffee Shops and Pubs

Grocery stores in Edgewater and West River will be open on Thanksgiving Day including Safeway, Giant, Food Lion and Christopher’s Fine Foods.  The hours are:

The Edgewater Starbucks located on Solomon’s Island Road and the Safeway Starbucks will be open . Check with the stores for  hours of operation.

The High’s in Edgewater, West River and Deale will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Greene Turtle’s main dining room and bar will serve drinks and food from 5:30 p.m. to midnight.
