Capt. Avery Museum’s Children’s Holiday Program Slated for Dec. 8

Santa is on his way to Shady Side. The Capt. Avery Museum‘s annual Children’s Tree Trimming Party will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 8 at the museum in Shady Side, 1418 E.W. Shady Side Road.

Participants will be invited to tour the museum’s 1860s waterman’s home, create festive holiday crafts, trim the museum’s Christmas tree with naturally-made ornaments, enjoy light refreshments, and even visit with Santa.  The event will give children an opportunity to celebrate the holiday in the fashion of the era. Admission is free and children of all ages are welcome.

As they have in years’ past, the festivities will take place in the Great Room, which will be decorated for the holidays. This program has been ongoing each Christmas for over 20 years.

Assisting in sponsoring this event as members of the Captain’s Circle are Greenstreet Gardens and BayVue Consulting.
