The Officers and Members of WBVFD are once again excited to announce the Annual Firehouse Santa Toy Drive. This year’s toy drive will take place on Sunday, December 8, 2013.  Santa along with his helpers will travel through the communities collecting toys on his very own fire truck! If you wish to join in the festivities by donating, we ask you to have your gift(s) wrapped and labeled with the appropriate age group, gender or size and then join us at one of our locations. If you are unable to donate but wish to visit with Santa, that’s ok too! Please remember, this program grows every year. You can check the attached Santa Run Schedule for times and locations in your community. It’s hard work keeping up with Santa and we certainly do our best to stay on schedule. If we seem to be running behind schedule it means that Santa had more toys to pick up than he thought!

Last year, with your tremendous support, we were able to help numerous families in our area and had toys to spare. In fact, we had so many toys to spare that we were fortunate enough to personally deliver well over 800 gifts to Saint Michaels, M.D. and Toms River, N.J. Two communities that were devastated after last years Super Storm Sandy.  This year, our community was deeply affected by the lengthy government shutdown. The shutdown caused many families financial strain and hardship. We are confident that once again our community will pull together and help one another making this year’s toy drive bigger and better than ever.

If you would like to contribute but are unavailable on December 8th or your community is not listed, you can drop off your donation to WBVFD (529 Londontown Rd. Edgewater, Md. 21037.) on Tuesday, December 3rd. or Thursday, December 5th from 7-9:00pm. Toys may also be donated all day on Sunday, December 8th.  We are also accepting non-perishable foods, gently used coats, hats and gloves for children and adults along with the wrapped toys this year.

If you know of someone with special needs or disability that would like a personalized visit from Santa, or you would like to request a location and time in your community to support next years toy drive, request can be made by contacting Chief Howlin at jhowlin@woodlandbeachvfd.com .

Thank you for your continued support.

Chief Bobby Howlin – Firehouse Santa Director
