After nearly 10 years, Parkemoor Home will close its doors on  January 31, 2014.

After nearly 10 years, Parkemoor Home, located at Main Street at South River Colony, is closing its doors.

Owner Ty Christian said he is relocating to New York and is sadly closing his furniture store. His last day will be January 31, 2014.

Parkemoor Home was one of five original tenants to open on Main Street in 2004.  The furniture store has operated in two locations on Main Street, first opening near the Fuji Steakhouse and later relocating just down the street to a larger retail space.

Parkemoor Home features American made, custom-designed furniture and accessories including sofas; chairs; dining, living, and bedroom sets; lamps and lighting; floral; accessories and gifts; rugs and art; and mirrors. Christian also consigns items at his Edgewater store.

When we stopped by, the inventory had been picked over but there was still lots to select from. Currently everything in the store is 40 percent off. Christian said he will continue to discount items throughout December and January. Starting January 24, Christian said he will have a “let’s make a deal” sale.

Custom furniture orders will be taken up until  December 22. Christian is offering a 30 percent discount on custom orders to cover freight charges.

Parkemoor Home is located at 127 Mitchells Chance in Edgewater. Store hours are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
