UPDATE: A Happy Ending for Davidsonville Cat Shot With Arrow
Xena, the 2-year-old orange cat that was shot with a crossbow in Davidsonville earlier this year, has completely recovered from her physical injuries and is happily living with her adopted family.
According to Kathy Rude, president of Rude Ranch Animal Rescue, Xena was scared and shy when she arrived at her new home. However, once Xena realized she was safe and there were lots of toy, there was no stopping her.
Rude Ranch Animal Rescue is the the shelter that helped treat and place Xena in her new home.
Kathy said that “a sleepy and frustrated kitty dad called in August saying that Xena was playing so much she woke them up at 3 a.m. every night for a week. She has since settled into a routine and now waits til almost 5 a.m. before waking her owners for breakfast. Xena is looking forward to her first Christmas as a “spoiled” feline and can’t wait to play in all the ribbons and wrapping paper.”
As previously reported on the South River Source, on Wednesday, June 12, Xena was shot with an approximately two foot arrow through her left shoulder. She was discovered on the owner’s property. However, the location of the actual incident and who is responsible for shooting the cat remains unclear.
Anyone with information that may lead to finding the person(s) responsible for Xena’s condition is asked to contact Anne Arundel County Animal Control at 410-222-8900 or the Anne Arundel County Police Department at 410-222-8610.
