Spay/Neuter Your Pet in the New Year and Help Reduce the Homeless Pet Population

Here is information passed on to us by Spay, Spa & Neuter Nook about a program they are currently offering to help reduce the homeless pet population in Anne Arundel County. This special is available during the month of January to the first 100 customers that schedule an appointment to get their cat or dog spayed or neutered.

Spay, Spa & Neuter Nook, located at 1251 West Central Avenue in Davidsonville, is ringing in the New Year by offering a  “Happy Neuter Year” special.

Sponsored by PetSmart Charities, the largest funder of animal welfare efforts in North America, the “Happy Neuter Year” campaign will provide $20 neuter surgeries for 100 male dogs and cats performed during the month of January at Spay, Spa & Neuter Nook.

Spaying and neutering is one of the most effective ways to reduce the homeless pet population and is safe for puppies and kittens as young as eight to 10 weeks old, according to the American Veterinary Medical Association.

“Neutering male pets is a simple surgery that reduces unwanted behaviors, like roaming, fighting, and urine marking territories,” says Katherine Rude, president of Spay, Spa & Neuter Nook. “It also guarantees your dog or cat never fathers a litter of puppies or kittens.”

The special $20 rate  is less than Spay, Spa & Neuter Nook’s normal low-cost price. Pet parents who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the “Happy Neuter Year” campaign when they schedule the appointment.

Spay Spa & Neuter Nook was created by Rude Ranch Animal Rescue to provide high quality low cost spay and neuter services to residents of Anne Arundel County and surrounding areas. Their  goal is to work towards a day when we no longer euthanize healthy animals because of pet overpopulation.
