Davidsonville Green Expo Seeks Sponsors, Exhibitors for March 15 Event
Preparations are underway for the Fifth Annual Davidonsville Green Expo scheduled for Saturday, March 15 at Davidsonville Elementary School. Sponsored by the Davidsonville Area Civic Association (DACA), this annual event brings together businesses and non-profits to help increase awareness about environmental issues.
Currently, DACA is seeking sponsors and exhibitors who offer sustainable choices or information about reducing environmental impact in the following areas:
- Household products and practices
- Yard and garden practices friendly to the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed
- Energy, conservation, recycling
- Food and agriculture emphasizing local foods and Community Supported Agriculture
- Land Conservation
- Green lifestyles and recreation
- Education and advocacy
Exhibitor registration is $75 for a 10-foot by 10-foot space with a six-foot table and two chairs. There is no exhibitor fee for non profits and state or local government. Registration forms may be found here.
Registration for exhibitor space is ongoing. If you’d like to participate, send your application in early. Space is limited.
DACA is also seeking sponsors for the Green Expo. Sponsors who register by February 1 receive their name and logo on the Green Expo website and displayed on printed materials including (program, posters, flyers and reusable shopping bags). The Expo originally started at Davidsonville Elementary four years ago and has moved throughout the years to other venues including Riva Trace Baptist Church and the Ruritan.
“We are ecstatic for the Expo to return to Davidsonville Elementary,” said principal Jean-Marie Hofstetter. “The children and parents are always excited to participate in activities about “green” solutions and it’s a great time for the whole family.”
This year’s event will be held in the school’s cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be children’s activities throughout the day, tree give-aways, green product vendors and food and drink for sale. Davidsonville Elementary is located at 962 West Central Avenue.
Admission to the Expo is free.
