National Weather Service: Winter Storm Watch in Effect for Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for an area that includes Anne Arundel County for Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening. There is a potential for 5 inches or more  of snow. The heaviest snow will be late Tuesday morning through Tuesday afternoon. 300px-US-NationalWeatherService-Logo.svg_

As part of the system, temperatures will drop into the teens and winds from the north will increase from 10 to 15 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH.

The impacts of this snow will be widely felt during the Tuesday evening rush hour when roads will be snow covered and slippery. In addition, blowing snow will reduce visibility below one-half mile at times. Travel may be dangerous on Tuesday for both the morning and evening commutes.

The area of impact for this system includes the following counties:

  • Anne Arundel
  • Calvert
  • Carroll
  • Charles
  • Frederick
  • Harford
  • Howard
  • Montgomery
  • Northern Baltimore
  • Prince Georges
  • Southern Baltimore
  • St. Marys
