BIZ NOTES: Edgewater Offices, Nutz Country Corner and the Copper Bowl Spa & Holistic Studio Open
Do you have a need for office space on a temporary basis? Or want an office for your business but don’t feel like you’ve got the need for all that space or budget to cover all the overhead? Well, a new business in Edgewater has just opened that could help to serve your business needs. Edgewater Offices at Main Street offers individual furnished offices, virtual offices, meeting space and shared, temporary office space. Come in for an hour, a day, or move in for a year. Use the desk for a few hours, hold a meeting in the conference room, and then don’t come back until next month.
The prices start at $15 for an hour of day office space and $465 for a full time private office. This includes access to the business center and conference rooms. The private offices are fully furnished and wired. There are no start-up costs or long-term commitments.
Christy Dupras has operated a similar operation on Bestgate Road in Annapolis and decided that there was a need in Edgewater. She tapped Keara Cleary as managing director for the offices, located at 137 Mitchells Chance Road, in South River Colony Main Street.
Dupras said that they have people that they see every day, while others just use the conference room and the mailing address as a virtual office. She said that some people start a small business with a furnished single office, but then the business takes off and they end up leaving to rent their own office space. She said that kind of success is satisfying — even when they leave her.
Prices are reasonable, starting at $465 per month for an office, which includes conference room time.
At the Edgewater space, there is a large main lobby with a sunny conference room off to the right. Down the hall are several offices with a single desk and phone. The offices come with signage, internet, utilities and janitorial services. Bring in the picture of your spouse and you’re all set to meet with clients. In the back, there is a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. A couple of the office spaces could accommodate more than one desk and they are able to build-out the offices and join them as businesses grow.
The furniture was moved in last week and they are open for business. Call today and move in this afternoon. Cleary said that they are working with the Muddy Creek Artist Guild to get artwork for the walls from local artists.
Dupras said that many of her clients utilize one another’s services and have a real camaraderie without the office politics that come when everyone works for the same company.
