South River Federation Names Interim Director, Looks for Permanent Replacement
Buhl has served as chairman of the SRF board of directors since October 2012, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position. She brings considerable experience working on environmental compliance issues, both in the private and government sectors, having served as United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Regional Administrator (Region V) during the most recent Bush administration, a top environmental adviser in the administration of former Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich (R), and a long‐serving member of Chrysler’s environmental legal team.
“The Federation is doing great things, and I am excited to be able to continue to work closely with the staff and Federation board to ensure that the organization is as effective as it can be at continuing to restore the South River,” offered Buhl.
“We are exceptionally fortunate to be able to have Lynn step into this role right now,” said Federation vice chairman Kevin Green. “Her familiarity with the organization and her extensive background dealing with environmental issues, give the Federation board absolute confidence that she will be able to keep the organization on the right track as we embark upon almost $2 million in restoration work and a thorough search for a permanent executive director over the next several months.”
The Federation will be conducting a broad search for its next executive director beginning in February 2014. Inquiries about the position should be directed to the Federation office at 410-224-3802.
