Davidsonville Photographer Helps NICU with ‘Lil Angels’ Calendar

Davidsonville photographer Linda McCarthy is seeking baby models ages 0 to 5 years for the annual Little Angels Calendar to benefit the Anne Arundel Medical Center‘s  (AAMC) Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Mother/Baby unit. McCarthy has been doing this calendar for many years, and has helped to raise over $90,000 for the NICU at AAMC. visualconcepts

Here is how it works: you bring your baby (by appointment) to McCarthy’s Davidsonville studio for a portrait session. Sessions will be held on March 6, 8, 13 and 15.  No experience is necessary. McCarthy has worked with babies and children for over 20 years and knows how to get them to smile and giggle and be more than adorable.

The session fee is waived, but McCarthy requests a $100 tax-deductible donation that will be donated to AAMC NICU.

You can buy the photos — although you are not obligated to. Once the pictures are taken, they will be considered for the “Little Angels” calendar, which is eventually sold in the AAMC gift shop and online.

But before the calendars go on sale, there is a competition of sorts. McCarthy selects the photos and poses that will be used. Then, online, the public gets to vote with the money on which photos to include in the calendar. This is where the real fundraising happens. Each vote costs $1, so people are encouraged to get their friends and family to vote for their favorite “Little Angels.”

Once the top 13 are selection (one a month and the cover), McCarthy gets the calendars printed and they go on sale.

The calendars also tell the inspirational stories of 12 families whose infants started their lives at the NICU.

McCarthy said that no experience is necessary.

People come from all over to participate in this terrific fundraiser (and end up with some adorable pictures of their children).

Please call Linda McCarthy at Visual Concepts at 410-626-7474 to schedule your session or e-mail Linda at linda@visualconceptsltd.com for more information.
