Easter Events in South County
Easter is Sunday, April 20 and starting this weekend, local businesses and churches will host egg-citing events to celebrate the Easter season. There’s an Easter Parade and Egg Hunt at Greenstreet Gardens, a “Walk with Jesus” event at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and an Easter Eggstravaganza at Riva Trace Baptist Church.

Greenstreet Gardens Easter Parade and Egg Hunt
391 West Bay Front Road, Lothian
Hop over to Greenstreet Gardens this Saturday, April 12 for an Easter Egg Hunt, Parade and Visit with the Easter Bunny. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with two Egg Hunts scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The cost is $6 per child. Bring your own basket to collect the brightly-colored eggs.
The Easter Bunny will also visit Greenstreet Gardens on Sunday, April 13 and Saturday April 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Homestead Gardens Easter Weekend Event
743 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville
Head over to Homestead Gardens on Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20 for an Easter Egg Hunt, Workshops and more. Check out Homestead Gardens‘ website for additional information on classes and activities.
Mt Zion United Methodist Church
122 Bayard Road, Lothian
Mt Zion United Methodist Church will host a “Walk with Jesus” event on Saturday, April 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Individuals will be guided through five rooms representing Palm Sunday, the Passover, Garden of Gethsemane, Good Friday and the Crucifixion and the Tomb and Resurrection. There will be a petting zoo for the kids and food and refreshments. The tour of the five stations takes about an hour with the last one beginning at 1:45 p.m. There will be a pre-school station for the younger children with fun activities and games.
Holy Family Catholic Church
826 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville
Holy Family will hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt and Party on Saturday, April 19 from 10-11 a.m. There will be arts and crafts and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
Riva Trace Baptist Church
475 West Central Avenue, Davidsonville
Riva Trace will hold its Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday, April 19 from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. The day is filled with egg hunts for all ages, pony rides, inflatable moon bounces, carnival games, face paintings and refreshments. There is a suggested donation of $5 per child.
St. James Parish

St James Parish will have an Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 20 at 10 a.m. in the churchyard.

All Hallows Church will turn the kids loose to hunt for Easter eggs on Easter Sunday, April 20 following the 10:30 service at the Edgewater location.

Cedar Grove United Methodist Church is hosting a Community Easter Celebration on Saturday, April 19. The whole community is invited to attend this absolutely free event that will be held rain or shine from 12 – 2 p.m. There will be lots of activities for all ages, including: a moon bounce; pet live bunnies; arts and crafts; games, and cookie decorating. Pick up a full list of activities and a schedule when you register at the event and get a chance to win some free prizes. Enjoy a free hot dog, chips and a lemonade at the event.
