Still Time to Sign Up for Shady Side ‘Seagull Sprint’ 5K Run and Walk

The Shady Side Elementary School Parents and Teachers Organization (PTO) will hold its third annual Seagull Sprint on Saturday, May 10, 2014. This event will consist of a 5K Race and 1 mile Kids Run/Walk. The race will be hosted at Shady Side Elementary School in Shady Side. The presenting sponsor for this year’s Seagull Sprint is Koon’s Annapolis Toyota/Scion.seagullsprint

The 1 Mile Kids Run/Walk will begin at 9 a.m. Runners of all levels are encouraged to participate.
The 5K Race will start at 9:30 a.m. and will wind its way through the Snug Harbor Community and end
at the school. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place finishers in three age groups.
Refreshments will be provided to all participants and there will be some kids’ activities ongoing as
well.

The purpose of this family event is to motivate the community to prioritize fitness and encourage kids
in motion, while supporting educational programs at Shady Side Elementary. Proceeds will be used to
fund new technology and other classroom needs.

Through the efforts of the PTO, Shady Side parents have been able to provide much needed improvements
