Dolch was raised in Anne Arundel County and attended McDonogh High School. He played football at McDaniel College in Westminster. McDaniel is an NCAA Division III school.

Dolch teaches physical education and coaches at George Washington Community High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the defensive coordinator for the football team there.

Klingel said, “We are excited to bring Ed Dolch into the athletic program at South River High School. His energy, knowledge, and commitment will continue the positive culture Lance Clelland created around the Seahawk Football program.”
